What you get with a window cleaning county

  • New homes, newest first, with the builder, bedrooms, square feet and an estimated window count from the permit
  • Homes still being built, so you can meet the builder and the buyer before the first clean
  • Homes that just got a new owner, with the sale date where the county records one, so you knock in the first weeks
  • Homes just listed for sale, newest first, with two street photos and the listing agent's phone and email, so you can book the clean before the first showing
  • The owner's name and mailing address where the county lists them, and whether the tax bill goes to the house
  • The owner's phone and email with one tap on Get contact, with Do Not Call numbers marked
  • A log on every home of each call and email, with the date, so you know when a follow-up is due
  • A summary of each zip up top, with new homes sold each month for the last year, and filters for home type, size, value, community and builder
  • A list you can download, with Street View on every home

$1,500 to $3,500 a quarter for the whole county, by its size, or $300 to $900 for one zip. No setup fee, and nobody else gets your zips or your county.

How the window cleaning lists are built

Where do the new homes come from?

Building permits where the city publishes them (Austin, Nashville), so the list has the builder, the bedrooms and the square feet. Elsewhere, the county property file: every house with a year built in the last three years, with its value and owner.

How do you know a home changed hands?

From the county property file: the sale date and the owner on record. Austin's county file has no sale dates, so there the list compares each month's file with the last and flags the homes whose owner changed.

Should I buy one zip or the whole county?

Start with one zip if you want to try it: $300, $500 or $900 a quarter, by how many new households it gets a year. A window cleaning route covers most of a county anyway, and the whole county always costs less than its zips added up. Either way, no other window cleaning company gets what you hold, and nobody can buy a county while one of its zips is yours. The Tri-Cities (Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol) is sold as one area because nine in ten of its homes sit within 16 miles of its center, the same reach as Wake County.

Where do the homes for sale come from?

Active for-sale listings in each zip, with the listing agent and their office. The list is checked for new listings up to once a week, and the app shows when it was last updated.

How is the window count estimated?

One window per 100 square feet of living area, a window cleaners' rule of thumb, from the permit's square feet where there is one and from the county's building value or footprint where there isn't. The app shows the basis on every home. Count them on Street View before you quote.

Do I get phone numbers?

Yes. Press Get contact on any home and we look up the current owner's phone numbers and email. If the records only turn up a past owner, you get nothing instead of the wrong person's number. Your team gets 500 lookups per zip each quarter, and a lookup that finds nobody doesn't count. Numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry come marked, with the rule for when you may call them, and numbers tied to people known for suing over sales calls are left out. Tennessee and Texas keep state lists too, so check those before you call there. Don't cold text.
